Brief
Design and prototype a new website for the Global Software Testing Awards, a launch-brand awards show for the software testing community.
The Challenge
The CEO wanted to review the whole site interactively before committing to build, not as static wireframes. The entry process itself was also non-standard: entry is restricted to previous winners or sponsors, so the logged-in and logged-out experience needed to reflect that gating clearly rather than just showing a generic login wall.
What I Made
A fully interactive Figma prototype covering two flows:
Logged out – full visibility of event details and information, but entry purchase disabled Logged in – same core site, with adjusted About page copy and access to buy entries.
Approach
Rather than designing separate structures for multiple user types, the prototype was built around a single clear distinction: what changes between an eligible, logged-in user and a general visitor. Keeping it to two flows meant the prototype could be reviewed end-to-end interactively, matching how the CEO wanted to sign it off.
Outcome
The CEO approved the prototype and it went straight to development. Through build, I worked directly with the developer on ad hoc refinements as details firmed up – including About page updates once venue specifics were confirmed, and adjustments to reflect the sponsor/previous-winner entry eligibility rules.
