Test Associates: Judge's Testimonials

Award ceremony testimonial videos produced for the Test Associates Podcast

Brief

Create shareable testimonial videos from iPhone recordings taken at a live awards ceremony. The backdrop behind the subjects, featuring branding across all Test Associates award properties, was also designed by me.

The Challenge

The source footage had three problems: poor framing, heavy background noise, and in one case copyrighted music playing in the background, which would trigger an automatic content block on YouTube.

The Approach

Each video needed a different fix. For the Daryl Elfield testimonial, the priority was removing the copyrighted music without destroying the audio. I used Adobe Audition to isolate and suppress it, then brought the ceremony's dramatic score forward slightly to mask what remained. Subtitles were added in Premiere to compensate for the reduced voice volume, with a final grade pass in After Effects. For the Gary Moore testimonial, the source was cleaner, Audition to restore the audio, After Effects to apply the template. The main challenge there was re-framing a moving subject to keep both speakers in shot throughout.

Outcome

Both videos were published on the Test Associates YouTube channel and LinkedIn, turning difficult source material into usable promotional content for the awards programme.
